Emily Bastion

I grew up with a love of interior design. My mom was an architectural draftsperson, and when my parents built their home in 1997, the career of interior design was opened to me. I loved to pour over wallpaper books with my mom (and still do!) and tag along for construction site visits. I later went on to study interior design at Michigan State’s CIDA accredited program. After graduating with my Bachelor of Arts degree, I spent the first decade of my career working in commercial/retail design downtown Detroit, where I perfected my skillset in spatial planning and fixture design. After my world shifted in 2020, due to both the pandemic and motherhood, I pivoted towards my original passion of residential design, which grew to the formation of Emily Bastion Interiors. In February 2024 I joined forces with my go-to builder and contractors, Adam Zylka and Drew Martin of Momentum Construction, as we embarked on a design-build business model, bringing decades of experience together. We are thrilled to be able to offer our clients full-service design as well as the experienced craftsmanship to bring it to life.

I am incredibly grateful to have a career doing what I truly love while helping my clients live best in their homes. I live and work in charming downtown Dexter, MI with my husband Matt, two boys, and our crazy golden retriever.
